The weather for the holiday weekend has been beyond perfect!  We went out to one of the baseball fields in town and shot Andrew's model rocket up yesterday.  We all had a great time.

We took a drive down to the Russian River today to see the salmon spawning and to see if we could get a glimpse of any bears.  We saw tons of fish ... dead and alive, but no bears.  Still a beautiful drive down on the Kenai Peninsula, though ... especially in this weather!

Bentley finally has an office here in Anchorage!  Bentley finally signed the lease on a property that I brought to their attention almost a year ago.  The furniture was delivered on Friday the 4th, and as of Monday, the 8th, I will no longer be working out of my house and hotel meeting rooms.  IW ill still be spending a significant amount of time at client sites, but now I have a permanent office when I need it.

OK ... what can I say ... I have not been journaling much over the past two months.  It has been crazy!  So now the baby is here and things will calm down, right?  Wrong.

Anyway ... Jake arrived on Sunday morning on HIS schedule.  He did not want to hear about any stinkin' "due date".  I am coming today, he said.  I am big enough .. no need to wait another month.  Jacob Harrison Schmidt was born on Sunday, September 20th at 6:40 am.  He was 8lb, 1oz and was 20.5" long.  He was breech, so mom had to endure a C-section.  He and Rhonda are both doing very well and they are expected to come home on the 23rd.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Rhonda and the baby!  Rhonda's health and the baby's health are definitely a blessing and an answer to prayer!

By the way ... we had snow on the mountain peaks last night.  Snow is expected here in town tonight!

Rhonda and Jake came home from the hospital on Wednesday (the 23rd) and I would like to say that Jake is adjusting well .... but .... I guess he is adjusting well, but we have not adjusted to his schedule yet :-).  He is up about every hour in the middle of the night to nurse.

The boys are so excited to be part of caring for their little brother.  They are really trying to help.  It is nice to see.

We switched from summer to fall overnight.  Literally.  Sunday was sunny, relatively warm, and pleasant.  Ever since Monday, the weather has been cloudy, rainy and cold.  Welcome to fall!
